For PHOTOSTORIES Nº26, I met Mila, a 23-year-old university student with a passion for rock climbing. We crossed paths near Les Salles-sur-Verdon, just days before her final university exam, at one of her favourite climbing crags. As I arrived, she was preparing her climbing gear at the foot of the rock face. Her relaxed attitude immediately caught my attention.

After a brief conversation, Mila agreed to take part in a photo session. Completely at ease in front of the camera, she moved naturally through the landscape. The rugged cliffs, sweeping views, raw textures of the climbing environment, and the rapidly changing light of a torrid European summer day combined to create the perfect setting for a unique series of photographs.

As I followed her through the landscape, I documented her connection with one of the places where she feels most at home. Later, we made our way down to the nearby village. Along the way, she changed into a different outfit, bringing a new atmosphere to the final part of the session.

As the afternoon came to an end, we returned to our cars, exchanged numbers, and said goodbye, wondering if our paths might cross again someday.
